Techniques

Alexandra has perfected the art of acid etching and Verre Eglomise (gilding on glass) to create exquisite pieces of hand made furniture. Each commission begins with sketches and watercolour drawings.

Designs are often inspired from decorative detail from trips abroad, especially the rich source of the Italian Renaissance. Gilded sample boards, with a selection of different shades of metal leaf and coloured bole gives the Client an idea of depth and delicacy that can be achieved for the finished piece.

Alexandra's experience in decorative finishes enables her to design bespoke pieces of furniture to suit the Client's individual requirements.
